BIRTH A.D. – Stillbirth of a Nation
Austin, TX
Birth A.D. embody the crossover thrash scene that dominated skate parks and empty swimming pools in the 80s. This three-piece, from Austin, don’t claim to bring anything new to the table, instead, they embrace the hardcore/thrash influences of DRI, COC, Nuclear Assault and countless more bands that weren’t afraid of commenting on the dysfunctional society we lived in. Birth A.D. bring that tradition to a new age; they have tons of things to cause their tirade and get pissed about. A definite stand out track is, “Kill Everybody.” This song is filled with the anger, spite, and pit breakdown that make you want to punch people in the throat…then grab your board and carve the pool. Another song I hold a personal affinity for is, “Parasites Die,” an ode to couch surfers and bums in general. You may not agree with all the views held on this disc, yet you will find yourself circle pitting next to your polar opposites united in general contempt for the world.
